Kiss Off
On April 22nd
2006, Alpha Phi hosted their 4th annual UW Kiss Off. Contestants purchased raffle tickets for the chance to literally kiss
a scooter. At the end of the event, the last contestant still kissing
was the winner of a brand new scooter! Other prizes, such as merchandise
and gift certificates from local businesses were raffled off. All proceeds
from this event go directly to our charitable organization, The Alpha
Phi Foundation for Cardiac Care. Stay tuned for Kiss Off 2007 details!

Relay for Life
From 6:00 p.m.,
April 16th to 7:00 a.m., April 17th 2006, a group of UW Alpha Phi’s
raced in the eighth annual Madison Indoor Relay for Life. The Relay
for Life race is American Cancer Society’s signature activity,
with more than 3,800 events in nine countries involving almost three
million people each year. All donations for the event went to research,
education, advocacy and patient service efforts – locally, statewide
and nationally.
The Heart of the
Matter: Cardiac Care
For more than
50 years, Alpha Phi has focused on heart disease and cardiac care
as its philanthropic priority. Through its annual Cardiac Care Award,
the Alpha Phi Foundation helps to fund research and educational programs
that support cardiac health. As a result of these efforts, health
care professionals and women everywhere are learning more about the
causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease – the number
one killer of women in North America.
